About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the Clinical Manager
  • Plan and deliver an engaging lifestyle program for residents
  • Lead and guide Lifestyle Assistants
  • Create social, recreational and wellness-based activities
  • Greet residents and inform them about daily activities
  • Welcome new residents and complete social profiles and activity plans
  • Create monthly calendars and newsletters
  • Organise community events and external outings
  • Coordinate entertainment and liaise with volunteers
  • Build relationships with schools, religious leaders and service clubs
  • Support staff development
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
  • Demonstrated experience in diversional therapy or lifestyle programming
  • 1–2 years of experience in a Team Leader or Supervisory role
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current “C” class driver’s licence and confidence transporting residents
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate a small team
  • Enthusiasm and creativity to enrich residents’ lives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Compassionate approach and empathy for older people and their families
  • High self-motivation, initiative and ability to work without supervision
  • Knowledge of Autumn Care highly regarded but not essential
  • Knowledge of Aged Care Quality standards
  • Demonstrated understanding of AN-ACC framework
  • Valid national police check and successful pre-employment medical assessment
  • Ability to work in a smoke-free workplace
