About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support cloud engineering operations and active software development projects
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and develop and implement remediation plans
  • Perform hands-on software development, including writing and reviewing code
  • Ensure efficient use of cloud technologies and compliance with established quality standards
  • Identify and deliver technology solutions improving products, systems, interfaces, business processes, and performance
  • Coach, mentor, and share knowledge with other software developers
  • Contribute to improving development capabilities across the team and organization
  • Champion a positive development culture and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Determine automation and tooling approaches for build, release, and container platforms
  • Determine when solutions and code changes are ready for the next delivery stage
  • Escalate technical issues or risks to the Development Manager and Team Lead when appropriate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience working on desktop applications
  • Strong software engineering or cloud infrastructure background
  • Solid understanding of technical cloud operations and automation
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, Perl, and Ansible
  • Understanding of networking and network security
  • Ability to incorporate operational quality into software delivery projects
  • Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Ability to evaluate and implement solutions improving system performance and business process efficiency
  • Experience reviewing code and solutions for development best practices
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or sharing knowledge with other developers
  • Strong understanding of development practices and standards
