About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine nursing duties and related patient-care duties in a surgical setting
- Interview patients to obtain appropriate health histories
- Maintain records and prepare oral reports
- Contribute to unit goals and improve understanding of health services through individual and community relationships
- Prepare, administer, and record medications
- Monitor vital signs
- Assemble materials and equipment for clinical sessions and maintain adequate supplies
- Clean and maintain clinical equipment and dispose of used supplies correctly
- Assist in patient recovery and discharge
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registered nurse with current state license required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
- At least two years of experience preferred
- Ability to observe the general physical condition of patient to detect signs of abnormalities
- Ability to record operations completely, accurately, legibly and concisely
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone
- Ability to exercise tact, initiative and good judgment
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Experience with intravenous medications
- Full-time availability during weekday hours
- No nights or hospital shifts
