About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work directly with large, messy healthcare datasets, including medical and pharmacy claims
- Build and maintain robust SQL queries and analytical datasets
- Ensure data assets are accurately managed, maintained, and usable for business purposes
- Partner with the Lead Data Manager and stakeholders to understand business requirements
- Partner with Data Engineering to create and maintain appropriate data structures and models
- Coordinate with internal and external data suppliers to ensure timeliness and accuracy of inbound data sources
- Follow and enhance data quality assurance processes and data governance policies
- Create appropriate metadata so data is well documented and understood
- Collaborate with team resources to create, maintain, and document necessary data sources
- Contribute through collaboration and shared problem-solving
- Report to the VP of Analytics
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years’ experience in a healthcare-based data management/stewardship role
- 3+ years’ experience working directly with administrative healthcare data (medical and pharmacy claims, enrollment data)
- Deep understanding of database models, ETL tools, and common quality challenges inherent in healthcare data
- Strong SQL skills, including building, optimizing, and validating complex queries
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/data related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Experience working with Salesforce data, healthcare vendor-reported utilization and savings data, and/or stop loss insurance data
- Familiarity with AWS Serverless Services and data tools, such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Sagemaker and EMR
- Experience using programming languages, such as Python, for analysis and data wrangling
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship both now or in the future
