About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Achieve sales objectives for single-cell RNA sequencing products through new-business development and current-account management
  • Create and execute sales strategies across academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical accounts
  • Accelerate growth in named key accounts and selected territories across the United States
  • Generate and manage high-volume and complex sales
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and rapid experimental progress
  • Develop, maintain, and grow repeat business and customer relationships
  • Prospect to build immediate, medium-, and long-term sales pipelines
  • Negotiate and close deals while minimizing discounting
  • Communicate technical advantages to customers
  • Develop quarterly and yearly business plans
  • Prioritize and qualify inbound leads
  • Provide management insight on competition, market trends, and customer feedback
  • Manage and accurately track the sales funnel using CRM
  • Collaborate with Field Application Scientists and prospecting specialists
  • Continue developing technical knowledge of emerging single-cell research
  • Forecast projected territory sales
  • Travel to clients, conferences, company headquarters in Seattle, meetings, and training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, genomics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of field sales experience in NGS and/or genomics-related products or services
  • Experience including both account management and new business development
  • Previous molecular biology lab experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, locally, nationally, and internationally as needed
  • Home office within the territory, with a strong preference for New York or Connecticut
  • Reliable internet connection and suitable home workspace
