Ag Service Technician – Animal Health

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist sales and service staff with delivery, installation, service, and operation of forage and silage inoculant products and application systems
- Assist with feed ingredient delivery and servicing dispensing systems
- Help install, service, and repair forage and silage inoculant dispensing systems
- Reconcile inoculant usage and inventory and maintain accurate records
- Conduct business according to Animal Health International’s code of ethics and conduct
- Deliver products and equipment throughout the sales area as needed
- Determine parts, supplies, or tools needed for service requests
- Manage vehicle inventory and restock as necessary
- Maintain vehicle and personal safety while driving company vehicles
- Travel 100% to customer sites in a local geographic area
- Occasionally travel out of town overnight and/or after-hours
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent experience is required
- Experience harvesting and storing agricultural crops
- Experience operating and maintaining equipment
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to work well with customers and other employees
- Ability to apply basic math skills to everyday situations
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Awareness of hazards and ability to work safely around potentially hazardous conditions
- Ability to work overtime and on weekends
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift, carry, and stack 50 lb. bags
- Possesses strong work ethic and takes ownership of company and customer goals/objectives
- Focused on understanding, meeting, and exceeding customer expectations
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Requires basic computer skills and/or ability to use a smartphone/tablet
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license along with good driving record
- Trade school training in carpentry/plumbing/heating/electricity/electronics is highly desirable but not required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Teams is helpful
- Must be able to remain in a stationary or driving position up to 100% per day
- Must be able to lift boxes and supplies weighing 1–25 pounds up to 75% per day
- Must be able to position oneself to install/maintain equipment, including under equipment or cabinets up to 50% per day
- Must be able to move or lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 26–49 pounds up to 10% per day
- Must be able to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds into place less than 5% per day
- Must be able to climb steps and/or ladders less than 5% per day
- Requires travel to customer locations
- Valid driver's license and violation-free/good driving record
