About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the management of complex fund finance deals and/or projects
  • Coordinate finance-related workflow and provide guidance to junior paralegals
  • Independently manage the full life cycle of assigned fund finance transactions from origination through closing and post-closing
  • Prepare, negotiate, and finalize transactional and closing documents under attorney direction
  • Prepare and manage closing binders, closing checklists, and signature pages
  • Track and resolve outstanding closing and post-closing items
  • Review and quality-check junior paralegals’ work product
  • Organize, review, and maintain transaction documents and files, including UCC filings, entity diligence, and lien searches
  • Maintain master deal lists and sensitive client-related information
  • Serve as a resource for deal status across the practice group
  • Act as a primary contact for clients and lenders regarding transaction status and logistics
  • Participate in and help drive client and strategy calls
  • Prepare meeting minutes and action-item trackers
  • Train, mentor, and help onboard junior paralegals
  • Coordinate with internal resources and third-party vendor services
  • Develop efficient procedures and communications across Firm departments
  • Identify and implement workflow, template, and precedent improvements
  • Work overtime as required
  • Handle additional related projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 5+ years of paralegal experience with relevant fund finance or finance-related experience (required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong teamwork orientation (required)
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Outlook and web-based conference call/web-sharing applications
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Word and document editing/comparison applications
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel and spreadsheet/database applications
  • Fundamental Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and presentation applications
  • Advanced proficiency in online research and internet resources, including UCC and lien search platforms
  • Proficiency with document management systems (e.g. iManage)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of timekeeping and expense reporting applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of legal billing processes
