About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own, build, and operate a technically complex FinTech system with its own technical strategy
  • Drive specifications, architecture, implementation, and production operation
  • Apply domain expertise across product information, pricing, orders, subscriptions, fulfillment, usage, and financial transactions
  • Build subscription and usage-based commerce capabilities, including metering, token consumption, billing, and settlement
  • Make consequential decisions about what to build, scale, or retire on ambiguous problems
  • Optimize the revenue lifecycle end to end across ownership boundaries
  • Identify high-impact problems and build solutions using AI agents and enterprise-approved tools
  • Use spec-driven development to define business rules, system behavior, edge cases, and acceptance criteria
  • Design for financial correctness, data integrity, auditability, and resilient operation
  • Instrument systems for adoption, usage, reliability, and financial accuracy
  • Partner with Product, Finance, Compliance, Operations, Commercial, and engineering teams
  • Implement financial controls and traceability supporting auditability, revenue recognition, taxation, and compliance
  • Build platform capabilities for trusted financial experiences
  • Mentor engineers on architecture, domain tradeoffs, validation, and production risk
  • Identify and address financial errors, data loss, security vulnerabilities, and AI-specific risks before release
  • Lead discovery, spikes, prototypes, proofs of concept, and hardened production rollouts
  • Write precise documentation for consuming teams
  • Present technical direction to engineering and product audiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Meaningful hands-on experience building and operating production systems across two or three FinTech areas: PIM, CPQ, O2C, FEM, FX, or reconciliation and settlement
  • Experience with payments, subscriptions, revenue recognition, and/or financial reconciliation
  • Experience with subscription lifecycle management, usage-based consumption, pricing structures, and billing operations
  • Ability to implement financial controls and auditable workflows with Finance and Compliance
  • Ability to translate domain rules into explicit specifications and testable system behavior, including failure scenarios and financial edge cases
  • Understanding of upstream and downstream effects across financial records, customer access, and operational workflows
  • Experience mentoring Software Engineers toward owning highly complex systems
  • Experience taking techniques from research or external sources through prototype, proof of concept, and hardened production rollout
  • Understanding of AI capabilities and limitations
  • Proficiency using enterprise-approved AI tools, including Claude
  • Knowledge of data classification and privacy principles for AI systems
  • Responsible AI knowledge, including bias mitigation, fairness, and transparency
  • Advanced prompting proficiency, including multi-turn context setting, chain-of-thought elicitation, structured output enforcement, and iterative refinement
  • Ability to build and own evaluation and validation infrastructure for AI-assisted or AI-native systems
  • Ability to scrutinize agent-produced code in highly complex systems
  • Ability to track AI-specific vulnerability classes and evolving state-of-the-art techniques
  • Must hold valid right to work in United States
