About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the technical foundation, initially collaborating with the Money - Payments teams
- Drive innovation and make key technical decisions
- Architect new solutions and implement patterns/frameworks for use by other engineers
- Identify potential system-wide solutions and guide teams toward business and technical goals
- Design scalable systems and build critical services
- Solve technical challenges impacting growth
- Mentor and develop junior engineers

Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, software engineering, or a related field
- 12+ years of experience as Software Engineer in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Strong expertise in fullstack development
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python or similar
- Experience with relational databases
- Strong expertise in full stack development and implementation of highly observable UI and backend components
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and system design principles
- Creative, flexible problem-solving abilities and critical thinking in ambiguous situations
- Team participation including code review, pair programming, collaboration, mentoring, and being mentored
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Desirable experience with mobile technologies or mobile payment systems, fraud and identity aspects of fintech, and large-scale systems used by millions of users
