  • Partner with enterprise business counterparts to deliver effective legal services
  • Manage legal risks and safeguard PayPal’s legal interests
  • Develop comprehensive risk management frameworks
  • Escalate complex issues to senior legal leadership
  • Evaluate products in international markets and support global legal decision-making
  • Review product user experiences for legal compliance and proper disclosures
  • Document guidance for legal and product teams
  • Facilitate subject-matter management and knowledge sharing across PayPal’s global legal organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years relevant experience and a Juris doctorate degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8–10 or more years practicing in-house, an equivalent setting, or at a reputable law firm
  • At least 5 years focused on product or regulatory counseling in Finance or FinTech
  • Ability to collaborate with international product, sales, and legal colleagues
  • Knowledge of federal and state consumer financial, consumer protection, and data privacy laws and regulations
  • Familiarity with CFPB and FTC rules, enforcement actions, and guidance
  • Experience advising on financial legal issues in Canada, Mexico, Central, and/or Latin America preferred but not required
  • Ability to provide product design and modification legal guidance, identify risks, recommend mitigation, review user experiences, and document guidance
  • Familiarity with PayPal, mobile and alternative payments, emerging payments technology, and the payments industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and ambiguous environment
  • Ability to take ownership of projects, interpret and apply unsettled law, and exercise sound business judgment
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, writing, and communication skills
  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree
  • Admitted to and in good standing with a state bar
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
