About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex engineering operational programs
- Provide technical oversight and manage engineering, technical, and procurement activities
- Plan and manage a portfolio of engineering operational programs
- Provide technical guidance and support to program teams
- Establish and maintain program management processes and standards
- Monitor program progress and performance against objectives
- Communicate program status and issues to senior leadership
- Manage program budgets and resources
- Own the multi-year AWS cloud transformation and disaster recovery roadmap
- Build and maintain the master program plan across infrastructure, application, data, and network workstreams
- Drive program governance through steering committees, working groups, status reporting, RAG status, risk registers, and decision logs
- Manage vendor and professional-services engagements
- Partner with engineering and cloud architecture teams on multi-region topology, replication, failover/failback, and RTO/RPO targets
- Coordinate migration and re-architecture waves across service teams
- Track technical debt and single points of failure and drive remediation
- Own recurring DR testing, including tabletop exercises and regional failover/failback tests
- Define DR test success criteria, capture findings, and close identified gaps
- Serve as primary contact for audit, risk, and compliance teams and produce evidence packages
- Maintain audit-ready DR runbooks, escalation procedures, and compliance documentation
- Prepare and deliver BLUF-style executive updates to SVP/C-suite stakeholders and steering committees
- Connect engineering, architecture, security, legal/compliance, and finance/procurement teams
- Represent the program in planning cycles and translate technical scope into business-case language
- Manage program risks, AWS and third-party partner relationships, contracts, SOWs, deliverables, and resourcing plans
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with program management methodologies and tools within an engineering environment
- 10+ years of technical program/project management experience
- At least 5 years leading large-scale cloud infrastructure or platform-resiliency programs
- Demonstrated experience running an AWS-based or equivalent hyperscaler disaster recovery program
- Hands-on exposure to multi-region architecture concepts, failover testing, and RTO/RPO planning
- Experience managing multi-year, multi-workstream programs with competing priorities and dependencies across several engineering teams
- Strong executive communication skills
- Experience presenting to SVP/C-suite audiences and steering committees
- Experience with concise, BLUF-style reporting
