About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain the PayPal POS app for small and medium-sized businesses
Build and ship iOS features in Swift using modern concurrency, UIKit, and SwiftUI
Deliver features for checkout, receipts, product library, inventory, purchase history, refunds, and invoices
Help legacy Zettle merchants transition to PayPal identity through sign-in and onboarding experiences
Integrate backend services over REST and GraphQL, including authentication and session flows
Work with Bluetooth reader connectivity using Core Bluetooth and Apple payment frameworks
Write unit and UI tests and participate in code reviews, CI/CD, and staged releases
Investigate crashes and production issues using analytics and monitoring, fixing root causes
Improve app stability, release quality, and crash-free sessions
Collaborate with peers, managers, project leads, and engineers in Sweden
Write documentation and runbooks for owned areas

Requirements

What you’ll need

1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience
1 to 3 years of iOS development experience with strong Swift
Hands-on experience with SwiftUI and/or UIKit, networking, local persistence, and concurrency
Experience with unit and UI testing and CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps
Understanding of secure handling of sensitive data on device
Clear written and spoken English
Comfort working across time zones with teammates in Bangalore and Sweden
Interest in payments
A habit of writing documentation, runbooks, design notes, and decision records
Objective-C, GraphQL clients, and Apple Tap to Pay on iPhone are nice to have
Experience with in-app payments, Bluetooth peripherals, or NFC is a plus
