About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create accurate 3D models of agricultural machinery, components, and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
  • Replicate existing machinery designs and components within CAD
  • Produce and update detailed 2D manufacturing, fabrication, and detail drawings
  • Modify existing models and drawings based on engineering instructions
  • Update drawings when machinery designs or components are revised
  • Maintain drawings, models, revisions, and documentation in Autodesk Vault
  • Follow established design standards, file structures, and drafting processes
  • Participate in regular video calls with the New Zealand engineering team
  • Discuss drawings, changes, and priorities and respond to feedback and revision requests

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Formal mechanical engineering degree or accreditation is not required; practical capability, strong CAD skills, and relevant drafting experience are prioritized
  • Hands-on experience using Autodesk Inventor in a professional drafting or manufacturing environment
  • Strong portfolio of 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
  • Immediate proficiency in Autodesk Inventor
  • SolidWorks experience is acceptable only with strong, current Autodesk Inventor proficiency
  • Prior Autodesk Vault experience preferred
  • Drafting experience in agricultural machinery, trailers, mechanical equipment, heavy fabrication, or manufacturing environments preferred
  • Experience drafting sheet metal and fabricated steel components preferred
  • Understanding of welding, bending, cutting, and assembly processes preferred
  • Proven remote work experience with Australian or New Zealand engineering/manufacturing businesses preferred
  • Confident spoken and written English
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple drawings and revisions, follow engineering direction, and ask for clarification
  • Organized, reliable approach ensuring design integrity and accuracy
