About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Handle inbound reservation enquiries via phone and email.
  • Assist guests with room and apartment options, availability, rates and general hotel information.
  • Enter, amend and maintain reservations in the hotel's property management system.
  • Assist with short-stay, long-term accommodation and corporate booking enquiries.
  • Follow up booking enquiries to maximise conversion.
  • Maintain accurate guest, booking and reservation information.
  • Provide professional and responsive communication throughout the booking process.
  • Make outbound calls to prospective corporate customers from provided contact lists.
  • Follow up companies, business travellers and potential accommodation partners by phone and email.
  • Promote H on Mitchell's corporate and long-stay accommodation options.
  • Follow up corporate accommodation enquiries and help convert opportunities into bookings.
  • Re-engage previous or existing contacts where appropriate.
  • Maintain records of sales conversations, opportunities and follow-up activity.
  • Support management with general sales administration and reporting.
  • Build professional relationships with corporate contacts, repeat guests and accommodation partners.
  • Understand customer accommodation requirements and identify suitable room, apartment or long-stay options.
  • Provide timely written follow-up after phone conversations.
  • Deliver a professional guest experience reflecting H on Mitchell's service standards.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous hands-on experience in hotel reservations, front office, accommodation sales or a similar hotel environment.
  • Experience entering and managing reservations through a hotel Property Management System (PMS).
  • Confidence handling reservation enquiries and guest questions over the phone.
  • Demonstrated experience with outbound calls, sales follow-up, account management or proactive customer engagement.
  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • Confidence speaking professionally with corporate customers and business decision-makers.
  • Strong attention to detail when managing rates, dates, guest information and booking requirements.
  • Proactive approach to following up enquiries and opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining accountable to the on-site management team.
  • Previous experience within an Australian hotel, serviced apartment or accommodation business is highly regarded.
  • Experience dealing with corporate accommodation accounts or long-stay bookings is highly regarded.
  • Experience working with corporate travel agents, business travelers or project accommodation is highly regarded.
  • Previous exposure to hotel sales, business development or account management is highly regarded.
  • Relevant New Zealand or other Commonwealth-market hotel experience where Australian experience is unavailable is highly regarded.
  • Comfortable adapting to new systems and helping maintain a structured sales follow-up process.
