About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the day-to-day platform management of Navvy+, Pearson School Assessment’s PreK–12 formative and screening platform
  • Clarify product vision and develop product ideas for engineering teams
  • Move capabilities from concept to live use by defining problems, release versions, prototypes, specifications and delivery plans
  • Own and sequence the Navvy+ roadmap according to capacity and priorities
  • Identify platform and service improvements for existing and new users
  • Translate problems into buildable engineering requirements and manage backlog and defect priority
  • Participate in stand-ups and iteration planning with engineering, Pearson development and external delivery teams
  • Assist with test case development and quality assurance documentation
  • Manage product release schedules, coordinate district needs with development readiness, and define release conditions
  • Produce release notes and product documentation for implementation, training and support teams
  • Collaborate across engineering, product, measurement, content, implementation, support, marketing, sales and leadership
  • Define AI-assisted feature requirements, assess bias and risks, and specify guardrails, transparency and human oversight
  • Communicate effectively with engineers and technologists without needing to code
  • Travel occasionally; perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business management, or equivalent experience managing large assessment technology platforms
  • MBA preferred for business management background
  • Deep understanding of technology for cross-functional communication
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint
  • Proven track record in a fast-paced software development team and/or 5+ years in PreK–12 education technology, academic assessment, or instructional products
  • Background in stakeholder management, customer support, and basic agile methodology
  • Experience taking products from concept to live users and shipping to immovable deadlines without customer-impacting incidents
  • Experience as product counterpart to an engineering team, including writing requirements, managing backlog and defect priority, and participating in agile ceremonies
  • Practical fluency with AI tooling for prototyping, feasibility checks, drafting, documentation and analysis, with judgment about when outputs require verification
  • Strong attention to detail and judgment about product quality
  • Strong logical reasoning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a virtual team
