Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and review content-specific test items across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments
Develop and review multiple-choice, technology-enhanced, extended-response, cluster-set, performance-based, and simulation items
Help develop item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and ancillary documents
Use AI-powered tools to develop, review, and enhance assessment content while meeting quality and accessibility standards
Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated assets into assessment workflows and provide expert feedback
Select, assign, manage, and train item/passage writers and educators
Facilitate and support customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise
Facilitate test construction activities and review composed test forms
Consult with customers in planning, status, and review meetings
Collaborate with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and other Pearson groups
Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and assessment
Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, or equivalent experience required
Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred
Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required
Some experience in large-scale, educational measurement preferred
General knowledge of all phases of the development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments preferred
Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development, or clear evidence of strong potential and readiness to leverage AI effectively in content creation
Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes
Skill in basic software tools and technology and confidence necessary to work with unfamiliar programs
Demonstrated interest in learning about and adapting to new AI technologies as they evolve
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Ability to creatively and flexibly address challenges with a variety of audiences
Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work on multiple activities and adapt to unexpected events
Some travel required
