About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the vision and execution of Pebl’s modern data infrastructure.
Serve as the technical authority on data engineering, ensuring scalable, performant, and reliable data pipelines.
Champion data security, privacy, and governance protocols protecting global payroll, HR, and compliance data.
Transform complex datasets into actionable strategies across departments.
Partner with Marketing and Sales to optimize growth funnel, CAC, and conversion rates.
Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Legal to improve billing accuracy, payroll speed, and compliance tracking.
Lead Pebl’s AI-native “AI Everywhere” initiative.
Bring AI capabilities to R&D offerings such as the compliance assistant, Alfie.
Embed AI into Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal workflows.
Translate technical R&D work into business objectives.
Present data insights to the executive team and board.
Recruit and lead data engineers, analysts, and AI specialists.
Foster continuous learning, psychological safety, and a data-driven culture.

Requirements

What you’ll need

15+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or analytics, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Deep, hands-on expertise with Snowflake, Fivetran, Atlan, Looker, and Monte Carlo.
Proven experience deploying LLMs, machine learning models, and AI tools for production products and internal operational workflows.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal to tie data initiatives directly to top-line growth and bottom-line efficiency.
Track record of weaving data into compelling business narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work from the Palo Alto office Monday through Wednesday.
In-office collaboration Monday through Wednesday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm at the Palo Alto office.
