About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Strategically and operationally support PEI’s North American Sales Team by promoting products and services that meet customer needs while delivering ROI and profitability
- Manage products throughout the product lifecycle
- Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements
- Define product vision and collaborate with sales, engineering, marketing, and training
- Develop product planning and product marketing strategies
- Maintain expert knowledge of products, markets, applications, competitive products, pricing, and capabilities
- Assemble and assess market intelligence
- Establish appropriate pricing structures
- Support PEI sales teams in growing business
- Establish and maintain supplier relationships to identify opportunities, reduce inventory purchase costs, and differentiate PEI
- Identify customer and market needs and business objectives for the product portfolio
- Develop go-to-market strategy and define success metrics
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive product-line success
- Develop deep understanding of technical details and product uses
- Support sales organization in achieving sales and profitability goals and closing significant opportunities
- Maximize inventory ROI through product budgets, inventory turns, obsolescence, slow-moving and excess inventory, and customer service goals
- Manage team activities including pricing, system setup, and bill of material creation
- Maintain integrity of system information, part setup, approvals, costs, resale, packaging, descriptions, and other part data
- Determine composition and manage initial stock packages
- Monitor quotations, conduct win/loss analyses, and improve close ratios
- Develop sales education and training programs with Marketing
- Assess competitive products and distributors to improve PEI’s competitive position
- Communicate important supplier information to management
- Drive continuous improvement in PEI product processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced relevant experience preferred
- 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- In-depth knowledge of industrial/military interconnect markets and products
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or company preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage a product portfolio profitably
- Effective written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to quickly learn products, processes, and technically complex systems
- Experience planning, buying and/or pricing products with Bills of Materials
- Experience with an ERP/MRP system such as Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft or other
- Experience in marketing and developing marketing materials and training
- Organization and task management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills
- Microsoft Outlook and Word proficiency
- Customer-centric mindset
- Previous electronic interconnect experience highly preferred
