About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage the day-to-day administration of treaty and facultative reinsurance programs
Oversee reinsurance accounting, including ceded premium and loss reporting, recoverables, settlements, and account reconciliations
Ensure timely and accurate reporting to reinsurers, brokers, auditors, and regulatory agencies
Monitor reinsurance recoverables and facilitate timely collections and resolution of outstanding balances
Coordinate reinsurance renewals by preparing data, financial analyses, and supporting documentation
Review reinsurance contracts and identify operational issues requiring resolution
Partner with Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, and Claims on reinsurance administration and financial reporting
Maintain reinsurance records and documentation in compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulations
Support internal and external audits with documentation, reconciliations, and analysis
Prepare management reports and analyses on ceded results, recoverables, treaty activity, and operational performance
Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting, and system efficiency
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Risk Management, Mathematics, or related field
Typically requires 7+ years of progressive reinsurance or insurance experience
CPCU, ARe, or FCAS/ASAS designations preferred
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
Ability to influence executive-level decision-making
Effective oral and written communication
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
Logical organization and reasoning
Leadership, analytical, and communication skills
Negotiation with reinsurers and brokers
Time management and independent work
Customer service skills
Knowledge of capital modeling and enterprise risk management
Knowledge of property & casualty insurance operations
Knowledge of reinsurance accounting and regulatory reporting
Knowledge of treaty structures, facultative placements, and catastrophe management
