About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Extend or rewrite an existing Elixir test harness for OpenStack endpoints
Automate smoke tests in the developer pipeline
Run comprehensive tests in parallel with ongoing development work
Test different versions of microservices to identify bugs and defects introduced by changes
Run tests against production-like environments to detect issues before customers find them
Test CLI/TUI and GUI customer applications
Architect and develop a rigorous integration test harness for multi-service, API-driven applications
Maintain and extend the test harness for automated and manual test steps
Collaborate with SMEs to determine feature-testing priorities
Collaborate with SREs to integrate the test harness into appropriate CI/CD pipeline steps
Collaborate with software engineers
Document test cases to support user-facing documentation and FAQs
Identify and close gaps in test coverage and delivery processes
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of software testing experience
Experience focused on cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and storage systems
GCP experience preferred
Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable automation code; Elixir preferred
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Kubernetes and Kustomize
Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to deliver well-tested products
Experience with LLM tools and frameworks is nice to have
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ethical and critical thinking
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent sales and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
