About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve customer issues
Assist with engagement and escalation of issues involving software vendors
Work with internal and external resources to provide innovative customer solutions
Implement, customize, debug, and tune system software
Provide storage management, disaster recovery, and hardware upgrade services
Monitor performance and capacity
Document customer environments
Provide z-related support services to Pellera clientele on a project or managed basis
Develop proposals and presentations for management and clients
Identify additional service opportunities
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients
Collaborate with Pellera and clients to ensure solutions meet business objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need

BA or BS or equivalent required
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer-facing environments with good presentation skills
Experience maintaining z environments as an in-house resource or as part of a managed team
Systems programming skills in IBM z environments, with emphasis on DB2, CICS, z/OS and/or related ISVs
Experience with standard IBM installation and maintenance procedures
Expertise with core IBM tools and utilities
Skilled with z-related ISV products
Ability to work with IBM UNIX System Services
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated and detail oriented, with willingness and ability to follow processes and procedures
Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
Ability to multitask
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products
Ability to provide z-related support services on a project or managed basis
Willingness to participate in developing proposals and presentations to management and clients
Ability to identify additional service opportunities
Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to clients
Ability to work with Pellera and clients to ensure solutions meet business objectives
Experience with DB2, CICS, telecommunications, security, automation, mainframe-compatible programming languages, Java, and/or WLM is a plus
IBM Certified Specialists and related industry certifications are preferred
Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work at a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Ability to travel
