About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the strategy, execution, and evolution of social media and brand reputation efforts across Penn Foster Group’s portfolio of brands
- Expand reach to new audiences and strengthen brand presence across owned and emerging platforms
- Shape how the brand is represented in broader digital conversations, including LLMs and social search
- Oversee the social media function and lead a team
- Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies across all brands
- Increase visibility and sentiment within LLMs and social search environments
- Optimize content for discoverability and accuracy across emerging platforms
- Manage proactive and reactive engagement in third-party spaces such as Reddit and forums
- Guide engaging social content strategies, emphasizing short-form video and platform-native content
- Scale creator and influencer strategy in partnership with the PR agency
- Manage, coach, and develop the social media and community engagement team
- Develop distinct social strategies for non-core brands
- Establish performance tracking, social listening, and insight generation processes
- Share actionable insights with Marketing, PR, Partnerships, and senior leadership
- Maintain hands-on involvement in execution, testing, and optimization of content and campaigns
- Evaluate performance data to refine strategies, improve efficiency, and scale successful initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of progressive experience in social media, digital marketing, or brand strategy
- Experience leading teams
- Proven track record developing and scaling social media strategies that drive audience growth, engagement, and brand visibility
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Strong understanding of social listening, brand reputation management, and community engagement best practices
- Experience with creator/influencer strategy and partnership management
- Familiarity with emerging trends in LLMs, social search, and digital discoverability
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform decisions and communicate performance to stakeholders
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to influence senior leaders and partners
- Experience managing multiple brands or business lines is preferred
- High attention to detail, adaptability, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving digital landscape with a test-and-learn mindset
- Must reside and perform work within the United States
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
- Employees are expected to be on camera during meetings unless extenuating circumstances apply
- Successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening requirements
- Completion of employment eligibility verification via Form I-9
