About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct clinical psychiatric services to students, including diagnostic evaluations and emergency consultations
  • Initiate care as appropriate
  • Provide direct clinical care, including medication management and maintenance
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and trainees on assessment and treatment
  • Provide formal and informal supervision of psychiatric nurse practitioner interns
  • Provide rotating on-call coverage during the day and after hours
  • Report to the Director of Integrated Care
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Work or remain on duty during university closures, delayed openings, early dismissals, or emergencies when directed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • MSN required
  • 3 to 5 years of experience required
  • Licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Unrestricted federal DEA license
  • Experience in psychiatric treatment of adolescent/young adult population preferred
  • Experience with a college student population strongly preferred
  • Experience with electronic health records desirable
  • Experience providing crisis intervention, short-term counseling and referral services
  • Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations
  • Experience with medication management
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
  • Ability to perform supervisory and administrative functions
  • Ability to collaborate with mental health professionals as part of a treatment team
  • Ability to consult with university personnel regarding mental health issues
  • Ability to provide consultation to SHaC staff, trainees, administration, faculty, staff, students, and families
  • Ability to assist with hiring staff and selecting trainees
  • Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule
