About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as systems administrator for the Division of Public Safety
- Manage Windows server and desktop administration, systems security, systems installation, and information security
- Manage cloud-based, virtual, and physical server infrastructure
- Create user accounts and maintain permissions using Active Directory and associated server management tools
- Ensure system integrity, reliability, scalability, and security
- Assist with vendor service contracts and contracted professional support
- Assist in preparing annual and five-year IT budgets for the Division of Public Safety
- Develop and implement IT solutions, including hardware/software lifecycle management and pilot testing
- Provide tier 2 support for DPS IT systems, PennComm center technology, end-user devices, and applications
- Support electronic security infrastructure with contracted security partners and University ISC staff
- Enforce physical and electronic security standards using firewalls, spam/virus protection, and intrusion detection
- Supervise and provide professional development training to one direct report
- Perform backup/restore, server monitoring, patch management, system documentation, and technology recommendations
- Maintain and support CCTV, access control, burglar alarms, emergency phone systems, emergency telephony, land mobile radio, mobile data terminals, and dispatch and police software
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts and 2 to 3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
