About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage all daily clinical records functions, including establishing and implementing clinical records policies
  • Ensure clinical record systems comply with state, federal and other regulations
  • Maintain working knowledge of state and federal regulations and serve as a resource for organization personnel
  • Protect open and closed clinical records through control procedures
  • Protect patient and organization information confidentiality through effective controls and direct supervision
  • Forward clinical record copies to authorized users according to policy
  • Complete administrative record audits after patient discharge and forward abnormal results for clinical audit
  • Monitor aged unsigned physician orders and submit follow-up requests to overdue physicians
  • Supervise use of the clinical records information system, including upgrades and enhancements
  • Ensure accurate and prompt filing and retrieval of clinical records
  • Assist a sister agency in Montana with medical records needs
  • Serve medical records needs around Wyoming from one office location in Gillette or Rock Springs; no travel is required other than to and from the nearest home office location

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least three years of experience in clinical records management, preferably in home health or hospice care operations
  • Information systems knowledge required
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct clerical personnel
  • Knowledge of corporate business management and governmental regulations
  • Good communication skills and public relations skills
  • Autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities
