About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed team of Territory Sales Managers
  • Conduct regular sales reviews, pipeline inspections, opportunity assessments, and forecast discussions
  • Develop and execute regional business plans aligned with Pentair's strategic growth priorities
  • Drive demand creation activities influencing specification and Basis of Design decisions
  • Expand market share through new customer opportunities and strategic growth initiatives
  • Establish relationships with customers, channel partners, consultants, and industry influencers
  • Coach team members on consultative selling, value-based conversations, opportunity development, and commercial execution
  • Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Customer Service, and Business Development teams
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
  • Lead territory planning and resource allocation to maximize regional performance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • 8+ years of progressive sales, business development, or commercial leadership experience
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience leading remote or geographically dispersed sales teams
  • Demonstrated success delivering profitable growth through new business development, market expansion, and customer acquisition
  • Experience influencing specifications, Basis of Design decisions, or other upstream purchasing decisions within complex sales cycles
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience with responsibility for coaching, developing, and leading field sales professionals
  • Experience with mechanical rotating equipment, such as centrifugal pumps
  • Experience working with HVAC, fire, and/or commercial plumbing systems preferred
  • Excellent presentation skills, including experience presenting to engineering firms and building owners
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, CRM (e.g. Salesforce), and equipment selection software (e.g. Encompass)
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
