About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead day-to-day delivery for the Shopify and Direct-to-Consumer digital commerce delivery team
  • Manage the Bangalore-based offshore delivery squad
  • Provide line management, objective setting, performance reviews, coaching, development planning and career support
  • Allocate work based on skills, availability, capacity and sprint priorities
  • Build a collaborative and delivery-focused culture across offshore and onshore teams
  • Act as squad lead and scrum master
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives
  • Improve agile delivery processes, scrum routines and team working agreements
  • Track progress, manage risks and blockers, and escalate dependencies
  • Use velocity, capacity, burndown and defect-trend metrics to improve predictability
  • Shape, refine and prioritise the delivery backlog with Product Owners, Business Analysts and stakeholders
  • Ensure user stories have descriptions, acceptance criteria, dependencies, assumptions and non-functional requirements
  • Support story-point estimation and sprint commitment planning
  • Partner with the UK-based Digital Architect on solution architecture and technical standards
  • Establish effective onshore/offshore handovers, clarifications, escalations, documentation and governance
  • Maintain JIRA or equivalent delivery tools, dashboards, reports and sprint boards
  • Maintain Confluence or equivalent documentation for processes, decisions, release notes, handovers and procedures
  • Support release planning, QA coordination, production readiness and operational handover
  • Serve as delivery interface between the Bangalore squad and UK/business stakeholders
  • Communicate sprint progress, risks, blockers, capacity, dependencies and delivery status
  • Translate business priorities into delivery plans and sprint commitments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 12+ years of experience in project management, delivery management, scrum master or agile delivery roles
  • Proven experience managing technology delivery teams, ideally across digital commerce, ecommerce, Shopify, DTC or retail environments
  • Strong practical experience working in agile delivery models and facilitating scrum ceremonies
  • Experience with backlog refinement, sprint planning, story-point estimation, prioritisation and delivery tracking
  • Strong working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence or equivalent agile delivery and documentation tools
  • Experience establishing or improving onshore / offshore delivery processes
  • Previous line management experience, including performance management, coaching and team development
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across business, product and technology teams
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, remove delivery blockers and drive delivery discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desirable: Shopify, DTC, ecommerce or digital commerce platform delivery experience
  • Desirable: experience working with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects and engineering teams in a distributed delivery model
  • Desirable: Scrum Master certification, Agile certification, PMP, SAFe or equivalent delivery qualification
  • Desirable: exposure to release management, QA coordination, incident management or production support processes
  • Desirable: understanding of integrations, APIs, customer journeys and commerce platform delivery
  • Desirable: retail, consumer goods, fashion, footwear or brand-led ecommerce experience
