About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with the VP, FP&A as a trusted finance business partner to the P&C leadership team
- Lead and coordinate annual budgeting, periodic forecasts, and long-term financial planning
- Own month-end and quarterly financial reporting and consolidation
- Prepare detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods
- Own financial models, assumptions, data integrity, and supporting planning and reporting schedules
- Improve forecast accuracy and budget quality through driver-based models and operational insights
- Build relationships with P&C leaders to understand performance, value drivers, trends, and financial impacts
- Develop and evaluate business cases, including scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Support opportunities to improve growth, profitability, efficiency, and resource allocation
- Translate complex financial results into actionable insights for senior management
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Implement finance best practices, process improvements, and reporting enhancements
- Lead special projects and provide ad hoc financial analysis
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in FP&A, Finance, and/or Accounting, with demonstrated experience supporting business leaders
- CPA designation preferred
- Strong understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, variance analysis, and analytical tools
- Demonstrated experience building, owning, and improving financial models and planning processes
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand business drivers and translate financial information into practical, actionable insights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and build credibility with senior leaders
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight timelines
- High level of accountability, adaptability, curiosity, and ownership
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships
- Strong facilitation skills and the ability to challenge constructively and drive alignment across teams
- Continuous improvement orientation with a focus on forecast quality, efficiency, and value creation
- Prior experience in a Property & Casualty insurance brokerage environment is considered an asset but is not required
