About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the market
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, channel partnerships, prospecting, and self-generated opportunities
  • Build relationships with business owners, executives, HR leaders, and decision-makers
  • Conduct strategic prospecting, initial appointments, and sales presentations
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
  • Conduct discovery conversations and analyze client needs
  • Recommend products, services, and solutions
  • Develop customized proposals and executive-level presentations
  • Negotiate pricing, service scope, and terms
  • Own the sales cycle from prospecting through close
  • Complete sales documentation and finalize client service agreements
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives
  • Track sales activity, opportunities, forecasts, and results using Salesforce
  • Maintain client relationships through implementation and beyond
  • Conduct client meetings and address questions, concerns, and implementation needs
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure successful client experiences
  • Collect and analyze business data to provide strategic guidance and identify additional opportunities
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity
  • Participate in training, webinars, consulting meetings, conferences, and professional development
  • Share knowledge, best practices, and successful sales strategies with team members
  • Travel to client visits, company meetings, customer events, conferences, and training sessions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of sales experience with a demonstrated history of generating new business and exceeding sales goals
  • Experience in outside sales, business development, account executive, or similar quota-carrying sales roles
  • Strong prospecting skills and ability to independently generate new opportunities
  • Exceptional negotiation, presentation, communication, and closing skills
  • Ability to build relationships and influence business owners, executives, and key stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate client needs into effective solutions
  • Experience using a CRM system; Salesforce experience is preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Self-starter mentality with accountability, urgency, and motivation
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional presence and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt sales strategies to market conditions, competitive activity, and client needs
  • Valid, non-restrictive driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Experience selling within PEO, HCM, payroll, HR technology, employee benefits, or related business services is highly desirable
