Key responsibilities & impact

Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers
Develop solutions to satisfy the company’s software use cases
Conduct performance evaluations, career development planning, and regular coaching conversations
Support workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, and talent retention activities
Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning
Manage execution and delivery of software initiatives, product enhancements, and strategic modernization efforts
Partner with Product Management to establish priorities, roadmaps, and delivery commitments
Ensure engineering teams adhere to development standards, security requirements, and quality expectations
Monitor team capacity, sprint execution, delivery metrics, and operational health
Remove blockers and proactively address delivery risks
Guide architectural and technical decision-making within the team
Promote code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure software development
Collaborate with architects and senior technical leaders on modernization and platform strategies
Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities
Partner with leaders across Engineering, QA, Product, Operations, Security, and Client Services
Communicate project status, risks, and team performance to senior leadership
Contribute to department planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives
Build and maintain an engaged engineering team and deliver roadmap commitments during the first 12 months

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
7+ years of software engineering experience
2+ years of technical leadership, supervisory, team lead, or management experience
Embraces an AI-First mentality when it comes to software development
Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise software solutions
Strong understanding of software architecture, software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and engineering best practices
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
Strong people leadership, coaching, and organizational development skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Experience with Microsoft .NET technologies including C#, ASP.NET, and Web APIs
Experience with Angular
Experience with AI-Assist development tools (GitHub Copilot, LLMs, etc.)
Experience developing cloud-native applications using Amazon Web Services
Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation
Experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development
Understanding of security best practices for enterprise applications
Experience within mortgage, real estate, fintech, or financial services industries
Experience leading distributed or hybrid engineering teams
Experience managing engineering delivery metrics and operational performance indicators
