About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software applications and services
- Analyze technical and business requirements and translate them into maintainable software solutions
- Participate in architecture and design discussions and provide technical recommendations
- Develop moderately complex software components, APIs, integrations, and user-facing functionality
- Perform root-cause analysis and resolve production issues
- Create unit tests and support automated testing and quality assurance activities
- Conduct and participate in peer code reviews
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, Operations, and Security teams
- Document application designs, technical specifications, support procedures, and development standards
- Support engineering process, automation, security, performance, and reliability improvements
- Provide technical guidance to Software Engineer I team members and interns
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives
- Own medium-complexity projects and technical initiatives
- Contribute to system design discussions and architecture reviews
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
- Work onsite from the Sharon, PA or Jacksonville, FL office 3 days per week
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5+ years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in at least two modern programming languages
- Working knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile development practices
- AI-First mentality when it comes to software development
- Experience developing enterprise applications and services
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and software engineering best practices
- Experience with source control systems and collaborative development workflows
- Strong SQL and database development skills
- Experience debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing software applications
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
- Preferred: experience with Microsoft .NET technologies including C#, ASP.NET, and Web APIs; Angular; AI-Assist development tools; Amazon Web Services; microservices, event-driven architectures, distributed systems; CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, infrastructure automation; automated testing frameworks and test-driven development; security best practices; enterprise integration; mortgage, real estate, fintech, or financial services industries
