About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise and lead Senior Oncology Account Specialists within the assigned area
- Manage sales performance for the business portfolio of products
- Assess area stakeholders and future business-marketplace trends
- Conduct regular in-field and virtual coaching and observation of Field Sales Representatives
- Maintain frequent customer contact and partner with marketing and channel colleagues
- Ensure compliant execution and promote a culture of integrity
- Supervise hiring, live coaching, virtual coaching, representative development, performance management, and priority-account assignment for six Senior Oncology Account Specialists
- Develop and implement area strategic plans and business plans
- Manage area-level budgets in alignment with Regional Business Director expectations
- Plan, organize, and monitor performance to achieve area and RBU business potential
- Ensure effective use of promotional materials and contribute to annual marketing plans
- Analyze data proactively to identify market trends
- Identify and motivate key-account development opportunities affecting regional and national business
- Build relationships with customers, KOLs, key stakeholders, channel partners, and cross-functional partners
- Develop external advocates and contribute to advocacy and community engagement
- Conduct plan-of-action and other meetings with area management teams and partners
- Collaborate in integrated account teams and partner with Marketing during the operating-plan process
- Lead cross-functional partnerships to meet patient-service needs
- Maintain product, portfolio, disease-state, and market knowledge
- Operate digital and virtual tools and leverage customer-insight analytics
- Coach representatives on selling skills, product knowledge, business planning, compliance, technology use, and engagement methods
- Build team culture, colleague engagement, and morale
- Promote feedback and continuous improvement
- Set team goals and hold team members accountable for exceeding them
Requirements
What you’ll need- Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 6+ years of experience
- 5+ years pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience
- Skilled with data-driven resource management to ensure proper channel deployment
- Ability to travel as needed to develop internal and external relationships
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to think and communicate with the audience’s need first
- Valid US driver’s license and a driving record in compliance with company standards
- Cross-functional collaboration mindset
- Leadership experience including influencing and collaborating with peers, developing and coaching others, and overseeing and guiding colleagues
- Master's degree with at least 5+ years of experience, or a PhD with 1+ years of experience (nice-to-have)
- 2+ years of Area Business Manager experience leading a sales team (nice-to-have)
- Experience working with key thought leaders or high-influence customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations (preferred)
- Oncology experience strongly preferred
- Genitourinary experience strongly preferred
- Advanced communication skills for facilitation, customer engagement, team management, and remote collaboration and coaching
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute flawlessly
- Strong track record of collaborative and motivational leadership and internal stakeholder management skills
- Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
- Permanent work authorization in the United States is required
- U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
