About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Regional Business Director
- Work with customer-facing colleagues in Accounts and Pharmacy and Headquarters teams across the organization
- Supervise and lead 9–12 representatives within the assigned area
- Own sales performance for the vaccines portfolio
- Assess key stakeholders and future trends in the business marketplace
- Develop in-depth sales business plans for the local healthcare ecosystem
- Provide regular in-field and virtual coaching and observe field representatives
- Engage frequently with customers and build partnerships with accounts, retail, and marketing colleagues
- Ensure compliant execution by team members and advance a culture of integrity
- Hire, coach, develop, and manage representatives across the vaccines portfolio
- Establish team goals, enforce performance standards, and manage underperformance
- Build team culture focused on engagement, morale, and continuous improvement
- Apply live, virtual, and hybrid coaching to strengthen representative capabilities
- Provide development opportunities supporting career growth and engagement
- Develop and implement strategic area business plans aligned to national and regional priorities
- Manage area-level budget accountability and resource deployment
- Analyze data to identify market trends, assess stakeholders, and anticipate business shifts
- Monitor promotional-material utilization and field execution
- Collaborate with Marketing during the Op Plan process
- Build relationships with customers, KOLs, IDNs, large group practices, retail stores, Grantees, FQHCs, DoD, and VA across vaccine therapeutic areas
- Lead credible, science-forward customer conversations
- Identify key account development opportunities
- Connect HSPs with channel and Headquarters partners to address complex customer requirements
- Coach representatives on digital tools, cross-functional customer engagement, and Consultative Account-Based Portfolio Selling
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and Pfizer policy requirements
- Maintain compliance knowledge and escalate issues promptly
- Operate digital and virtual tools and platforms at an expert level
- Apply data-driven resource management across a dual-portfolio area
- Use sales data and reporting software to adjust strategy and adapt to Pfizer’s technology model
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required
- 6+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience
- At least 3–5 years in a demonstrated leadership role across peer and customer groups
- Experience engaging key thought leaders or high-influence customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations preferred
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with driving record in compliance with company standards
- Any DUI/DWI or impaired driving citation within the past 7 years is disqualifying
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including influencing and collaborating with peers, developing and coaching others, and creating meaningful business impact
- MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
- 5+ years of people management experience preferred
- Vaccines experience and expertise strongly preferred
- Ability to develop and reinforce team expertise across a broader portfolio with a “Science First” mindset
- Cross-functional collaboration mindset aligned to a “One Pfizer” commitment to the customer
- Advanced virtual communication skills for customer engagement, team management, and remote collaboration
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to interpret sales data, reporting applications, and adapt to evolving technology platforms
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute with precision to deliver results
- Strong track record of collaborative, motivational leadership and internal stakeholder management
- Enterprise thinking with the ability to anticipate downstream consequences
- Excellent facilitation skills
- Field travel required; overnight travel expected based on area geography and business need
- Ability to travel across all representative territories within the area
- Attendance at area and national meetings required
- Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
- Permanent work authorization in the United States required
- U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
