About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own hands-on software engineering delivery for the Medical Affairs AI Acceleration portfolio
  • Design components and write, test, document, and ship production-grade code
  • Build, test, and ship full-stack software across languages and frameworks
  • Integrate Agentic AI, LLM-based capabilities, and RAG pipelines into Medical Affairs products
  • Take proofs of concept and MVPs through to production-grade systems
  • Apply quality gates and engineering standards for quality, maintainability, and reuse
  • Verify and review AI-generated code before production release
  • Apply LLM integration patterns including prompt design, multi-provider/model considerations, and RAG
  • Monitor and troubleshoot AI/ML components in production
  • Optimize LLM and agent interactions for token efficiency, cost, latency, and output quality
  • Integrate core enterprise systems such as Veeva CRM, PromoMats, Salesforce Life Sciences/Marketing Cloud
  • Identify and resolve technical debt
  • Partner with Solution Architecture, Data Integration Engineering, Product Management, and UX/Experience Design
  • Participate in sprint and iteration ceremonies with the Scrum Master
  • Contribute to engineering documentation, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
  • Report to the Senior Director, Engineering

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
  • Experience building and shipping production software across the full stack
  • Ability to work across multiple languages and frameworks
  • Experience integrating AI/ML or LLM-based capabilities into production systems
  • Experience taking prototypes/MVPs through to production-grade, scalable systems
  • Experience with modern cloud architecture (AWS or Azure), API-first design, and CI/CD practice
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks
  • Strong verification and code-review discipline, including review of AI-generated code
  • Experience designing and optimizing LLM/agent prompts and workflows for token efficiency
  • Strong written communication skills and technical documentation experience
  • Must be able to travel to Pfizer offices, vendor offices, and other team meeting locations when required
  • Must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available
  • Requires permanent work authorization in the United States
