About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set the future vision for Pfizer’s Oncology portfolio and help drive impact on patients’ lives
- Work with research, development, marketing, and cross-functional teams to drive commercial decision-making for early-stage, late-stage, and business development opportunities
- Lead long-term vision, commercial assessment, and investment case development for early/late-stage assets, life-cycle options, and technology platforms
- Lead and support portfolio-wide strategic initiatives
- Interface with Global Marketing, R&D, Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, Business Development, and partner functions
- Facilitate execution of asset plans and progression through governance stage-gates and enterprise governance endorsements
- Foster a strong, collaborative partnership culture
- Evaluate and maintain comprehensive views of competitive landscapes across assets, mechanisms of action, tumors, and oncology
- Analyze global market trends, treatment trends, evolving standards of care, and competitive developments
- Provide commercial input to development strategies
- Drive pipeline asset and disease-area strategies, commercial assessments, product concepts, target product profiles, strategic scenario planning, and asset investment decisions
- Make strategic and investment recommendations to Oncology and Pfizer governance bodies
- Create and update portfolio decision-making tools and systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience; OR master's degree with at least 7 years of experience; OR PhD with 5+ years of experience
- Experience in commercial development, marketing, new product launch or strategy in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology companies
- Experience in Strategy Consulting and/or Commercial organizations is preferred
- Strong understanding of Oncology landscape and emerging trends
- Prior Commercial Development experience with commercial planning, decision-making and driving value of early-stage pipeline assets
- Experience progressing assets through development stage-gates and presenting asset business cases to senior management
- Hands-on experience leading financial valuation, forecasting, business proposal and/or other related projects
- Experience interfacing/collaborating with Research, Development, Regulatory, and other functions
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- Demonstrated leadership of cross functional matrix teams and developing a collaborative culture
- Ability to coach others and oversee the work of other colleagues
- High sense of urgency with a focus on driving decisions amid incomplete and imperfect information
- Experience in long-term strategic plan development and execution
- Experience with global product launches and developing pre-launch positioning and strategies
- Candidate must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
- U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
- Position requires permanent work authorization in the United States
