About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, and track the IPC operating plan with milestones, owners, monitoring tools, and accountability for delivery
  • Synthesize commercial and policy priorities across international markets into a coherent operating plan
  • Translate complex cross-market issues into executive-ready analysis and decision materials
  • Coordinate with country and regional leads, commercial policy, communications, and trade policy colleagues
  • Build external engagement strategies and drive programs supporting strategic initiatives
  • Lead a portfolio of strategic initiatives aligned with the International Vision for Growth
  • Structure initiatives with problem statements, sponsors, stakeholders, milestones, decision points, and measurable outcomes
  • Pilot initiatives in selected markets, gather feedback, and refine approaches for broader rollout
  • Develop playbooks, tools, governance pathways, and communication materials
  • Transition mature initiatives to enduring owners
  • Oversee IPC leadership team meetings and follow-through on decisions and actions
  • Manage IPC budgeting, allocation, tracking, and reporting
  • Coordinate operational excellence across the leadership team and partner enabling functions
  • Interface with the Office of International Business Transformation, Office of the CEO, Strategy and Consulting team, and AI Law & Policy Forum
  • Manage vendors and consulting relationships supporting the strategic initiatives portfolio
  • Manage and coach the Senior Manager for Policy Planning, Operations, and Strategic Initiatives and additional portfolio resources

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 7+ years with an MBA/MPH/master's degree; 5+ years with a PhD or JD
  • Experience in policy, strategy, operations, and/or a comparable complex environment
  • Experience ideally in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry or another regulated sector
  • Demonstrated track record building and running operating plans and senior leadership team operations
  • Experience managing vendors, consulting partners, and cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix organization
  • Familiarity with AI and data governance frameworks and enterprise implementation preferred
  • Experience with data, RWE, digital transformation, and AI policy in a regulated environment
  • Ability to synthesize complexity into clear decisions and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Strong operating discipline across planning, budgeting, and execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication calibrated for senior audiences
  • Ability to influence without authority across functions and markets
  • Comfort with ambiguity and change management in a fast-moving, emerging portfolio
