About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set and lead the country/regional patient advocacy strategy aligned with business, policy and reputation priorities
  • Build trusted, long-term partnerships with patient, professional, community and trade organizations
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for priority relationships
  • Bring patient insights and the patient voice into policy, research, development, medical and commercial decision-making across the medicine lifecycle
  • Create coalitions and collaborative platforms to advance shared policy priorities, improve access to medicines and vaccines, and strengthen patient education
  • Advise senior leaders on emerging patient, policy and reputation opportunities and risks with short-, medium- and long-term action plans
  • Partner across Policy and Public Affairs, Communications, Digital, WRDM, GPD and business teams to scale patient-engagement standards, tools and best practices
  • Represent Pfizer in relevant external forums and advisory bodies
  • Lead high-impact advocacy engagements and events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in public health, public policy or a related field preferred
  • At least 14 years of experience in patient advocacy, patient engagement, public affairs or a related field
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Track record of setting strategy and delivering measurable advocacy, stakeholder-engagement and partnership outcomes in a complex matrix organization
  • Extensive experience managing patient organizations and building trusted, long-term relationships with them
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare environment and ability to translate business needs and patient priorities into integrated advocacy plans
  • Excellent executive communication, influence and issue-management skills, including experience in crisis and reputation management
  • Strategic, innovative and results-oriented leadership; ability to operate independently, collaborate across functions and engage effectively at all organizational levels
