About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and lead a multidisciplinary team spanning OT data engineering, industrial connectivity and semantic/knowledge-graph engineering
- Own edge contextualisation patterns, such as HighByte, applying context once at the source to open standards
- Lead the design and operation of the enterprise semantic-layer capability with Data Strategy, Architecture and business data owners
- Define domain ontologies and business glossary, knowledge graph and semantic views for in-platform intelligence
- Own deployment and operation of Unified Namespace architecture and MQTT/OPC-UA messaging standards from shop floor to enterprise
- Define and execute a global and site strategy for the plant historian (PI) estate, including footprint streamlining and consolidation
- Set standards for solution-embedded edge and integration work across Creation Centers and sites
- Partner with the site network through Site Data & Integration Leads to keep central patterns grounded in plant reality
- Lead the MDE program, including multi-site enablement, foundational data product delivery and maturity-model roadmap execution
- Participate in occasional global meetings, strategic programs and issue resolution outside standard hours
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field
- 8+ years across manufacturing/operational technology and data engineering
- 3+ years leading technical teams or major programs
- Broad understanding of Digital Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and SAP ERP concepts and data models
- Deep, applied understanding of AI models and machine-understandable data
- Hands-on experience with plant data systems, historians (PI/AVEVA), MES context, industrial connectivity and modern industrial data engineering
- Practical experience with ontologies, taxonomies, knowledge graphs or graph query technologies
- Experience delivering in a GxP manufacturing environment
- Ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across business and technology organizations
- Leadership experience influencing and collaborating with peers, developing and coaching others, and overseeing colleagues’ work
- Preferred: industrial DataOps tooling (e.g. HighByte), UNS architectures, MQTT brokers and edge deployment patterns
- Preferred: graph platforms (e.g. Neo4j) and semantic layer technologies
- Preferred: ISA-95/ISA-88 and contextualisation at scale
- Preferred: multi-site technology deployments in pharmaceutical or comparable regulated manufacturing
- Permanent work authorization in the United States
- Must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available
