About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the function accountable for data quality and trust across PGS and Enterprise Solutions
  • Own movement of data from source systems through consumption, ensuring completeness, accuracy, traceability and fitness for use
  • Set objectives and lead design, build and operation of data pipelines and integration estate connecting manufacturing, quality, supply chain and ERP sources
  • Own ingestion and integration engineering through MES, historian and enterprise platforms
  • Establish and maintain DataOps practices for release, environment, change and version management, and automated deployment
  • Own run-state performance, monitoring, incident management, service levels and on-call arrangements
  • Lead data quality engineering, including rule definition, enforcement, anomaly detection, remediation and measurement
  • Own lineage and evidence from source to consumption and ensure ALCOA+ principles are demonstrably met
  • Own technical certification of data products into PGS Trusted Data
  • Establish observability across pipelines and data products
  • Ensure pipelines and data products meet applicable GxP, data integrity and AI regulatory requirements
  • Work with Data Platforms on platform and data-flow boundaries
  • Partner with Delivery & Operations Excellence and Domain Data Solution Leads on demand, sequencing and measures
  • Represent PGS and Enterprise Solutions requirements in enterprise data, AI/ML, Cyber and OT Security forums
  • Build, lead and develop a distributed engineering team across multiple geographies
  • Manage partner and contractor capacity
  • Represent the function with senior stakeholders across Digital, PGS and the Chief Data Officer organisation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience, including 3+ years leading technical teams (7+ years with an advanced degree)
  • Experience owning data pipeline or integration estates at enterprise scale, including run-state accountability
  • Strong grounding in data quality engineering, lineage and observability practice
  • Experience leading distributed teams across multiple geographies and time zones
  • Experience managing partner or vendor delivery alongside internal teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical positions to senior non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across business and technology organizations
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and oversee and guide colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and business impact
  • Experience in a GxP-regulated manufacturing environment, with working knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11, GAMP 5 and ALCOA+ (preferred)
  • Exposure to data product thinking, data contracts, and certification or trust frameworks (preferred)
  • Familiarity with historians, MES, LIMS, SCADA, and ERP (preferred)
  • Experience with modern data platform tooling, including cloud data warehousing, streaming, and orchestration (preferred)
  • Understanding of ISA-95 and ISA-88 and their application to manufacturing data (preferred)
  • Experience standing up or materially reshaping a function (preferred)
  • Global cultural awareness and comfort operating across time zones; some travel expected (preferred)
  • Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
  • Position requires permanent work authorization in the United States
