About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shape the strategic direction of Pfizer's Global Hospital & Biosimilars portfolio
  • Develop enterprise recommendations on where the business should grow, defend, improve, simplify, rationalize, or exit
  • Lead the Annual Portfolio Review and own portfolio recommendations across GH&B value chains
  • Translate strategic theses into decision-ready recommendations with assumptions, risks, trade-offs, dependencies, and enterprise implications
  • Present and defend recommendations in the Global Portfolio Forum and other governance forums
  • Maintain a current portfolio opportunity pipeline and identify emerging opportunities and risks
  • Lead or co-lead high-priority portfolio assessments and determine appropriate scope, analytical approach, evidence, and cross-functional engagement
  • Assemble and direct cross-functional teams across Commercial, Manufacturing, Finance, Regulatory, Medical, Quality, Digital, and market organizations
  • Guide recommendations from assessment through governance and transition to execution
  • Own and continuously improve the GH&B value assessment methodology
  • Define decision questions, metrics, analytical views, and visualization capabilities for actionable portfolio insights
  • Apply AI-enabled analytics responsibly while ensuring validated data lineage, transparent assumptions, and human judgment
  • Shape AI-enabled analytics and visualization capabilities for portfolio performance, value creation, and emerging opportunities
  • Establish scalable approaches that accelerate business questions into decision-ready insights and enable self-service access
  • Translate portfolio performance signals into actionable optimization opportunities
  • Build enterprise partnerships and resolve cross-functional implications, dependencies, and trade-offs
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive developments, customer needs, and industry practices for enterprise impact
  • Represent and advocate for the enterprise perspective when functional, geographic, or market priorities compete
  • Occasional business travel of 10–15%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience; OR master's degree with at least 7 years of experience; OR PhD with 5+ years of experience
  • Broad pharmaceutical experience in Commercial, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory, or related functions
  • Experience within sterile injectables, biosimilars, specialty medicines, or hospital products
  • Experience shaping and influencing significant portfolio, investment, operational, commercial, or strategic business decisions
  • Strong financial acumen, including interpreting business cases, product economics, P&L performance, margin drivers, stranded costs, and capacity trade-offs
  • Ability to evaluate competing priorities and make recommendations under uncertainty using incomplete information
  • Experience using portfolio analytics, scenario modeling, visualization tools, or AI-enabled analytical capabilities
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority
  • Strong executive communication skills
  • Enterprise mindset balancing local, functional, and business-unit interests against broader organizational objectives
  • Experience applying, building, improving, or governing portfolio, investment, prioritization, or value assessment frameworks
  • Breadth of diverse leadership experiences, including influencing and collaborating with peers, developing and coaching others, and overseeing and guiding colleagues
  • Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States is required
