About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with marketeers to develop and execute strategic Opinion Leader engagement plans aligned with brand and Gastroenterology franchise objectives
  • Identify and map national, regional, new, and emerging Thought Leaders / Opinion Leaders
  • Map connections and relationships within the Gastroenterology Opinion Leader community
  • Develop individualized Opinion Leader engagement approaches
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with Thought Leaders and Opinion Leaders
  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned Opinion Leaders
  • Align engagement activities across functions to deliver a One Pfizer experience
  • Develop innovative digital and novel engagement models
  • Gather insights through one-to-one engagements and small group meetings
  • Capture, synthesize, document, and share insights on expertise, brand perceptions, treatment patterns, unmet needs, and market dynamics
  • Inform HCP, customer, brand, and franchise engagement strategies and planning
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, Market Access, global colleagues, regional colleagues, legal, and compliance teams
  • Develop and coordinate Opinion Leader engagement approaches for national and regional congresses and meetings
  • Plan and coordinate Opinion Leader interactions at meetings
  • Establish and track engagement metrics, post-engagement evaluations, and performance against objectives
  • Maintain up-to-date Opinion Leader lists and engagement activity records
  • Ensure engagements comply with company policies and compliance standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Approximately 8–10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or related healthcare industries
  • Experience in commercial, medical affairs, marketing, sales leadership, strategy, or customer engagement roles
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with external Thought Leaders and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional, matrixed environment with influence-based leadership
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate customer insights into actionable strategies
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Gastroenterology experience preferred
  • Experience designing and executing Thought Leader or Opinion Leader engagement programs preferred
  • Science or clinical background preferred
  • Strategic thinking and strong business acumen
  • High emotional intelligence and executive presence
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving orientation
  • Comfort navigating a highly regulated environment
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and oversee and guide colleagues’ work
  • Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future
  • Requires permanent work authorization in the United States
