About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development, execution and evolution of the US Vaccines portfolio contracting strategy for the Retail channel and Retail customers
- Lead a cross-functional matrix team comprising contract strategy and development teams, vaccine brand leadership and the broader US Vaccine pricing and contracting team
- Develop and execute Retail-specific contracting strategies for the US Vaccines portfolio
- Lead Retail contract pull-through strategies and analytics to assess their effectiveness with Retail customers
- Secure senior leadership endorsement for Retail channel contracting strategies
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Retail vaccine contracting on behalf of the US Vaccines Business
- Share Retail pricing and contracting knowledge and insights across teams
- Contribute to broader vaccine business unit planning and strategy development
- Align Retail contracting strategy with overall brand strategy and Retail contracting pull-through initiatives
- Lead execution strategies for customer-facing colleagues, including Vaccine Account Directors, National Retail Account Directors, Retail Trade Account Directors and Vaccines Account Managers
- Solicit and act on Retail customer feedback to optimize pricing and contracting strategy
- Monitor and continuously improve the operational effectiveness of the Retail vaccine contracting process with the US Market Access Contract Strategy team
- Lead a matrixed team including Retail Account and/or Trade leadership, USMA, Legal and Digital to implement strategies and resolve contracting issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree with at least 8+ years of experience
- 10 or more years of pharmaceutical pricing and/or contracting experience
- Experience leading vaccine-specific pricing and contracting functions with the Retail channel, including national and regional retail pharmacy chains and other retail vaccine customers
- Demonstrated track record of strong business acumen, strategic thinking and project management skills in a complex marketplace
- Proven success leading a highly matrixed team while balancing diverse cross-functional perspectives
- Strong problem-solving, leadership and collaboration skills
- High change agility, flexibility and comfort addressing and adapting to ambiguity
- Excellent commercial, financial and analytical skills
- Experience developing and executing Retail channel vaccine pricing and contracting strategies in a competitive environment
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including sales leadership, project leadership and matrix leadership
- Demonstrated account management experience in complex business-to-business sales
- Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and oversee and guide colleagues' work
- Up to 20% domestic travel
- Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
- Permanent work authorization in the United States required
