About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and execute Medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers within the California/Nevada/Hawaii territory
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas, disease states, and Pfizer medicines
  • Provide therapeutic area and product information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Serve as a conduit for Medical Information and customer insights
  • Deliver approved medical and scientific education to healthcare professionals
  • Identify and engage priority customer segments
  • Provide scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited medical requests from HCPs
  • Lead advisory boards with manager oversight and work with vendors as needed
  • Field inbound HCP queries through established triage processes
  • Partner with Oncology Research & Development and Global Product Development to identify potential clinical trial sites, including sites serving under-represented patient populations
  • Provide Medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research process
  • Cultivate research and therapeutic area expertise, including current congress data and disease-state literature
  • Provide asset leadership
  • Communicate study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation concepts to customers
  • Lead the territory through strategic planning, prioritization, and accountability for medical impact
  • Communicate with local Patient Advocacy Groups in collaboration with Corporate Affairs and HQ Medical Affairs
  • Deliver actionable field insights on patient organizations, patient needs, treatment patterns, standards of care, and unmet data needs
  • Serve on Medical, therapeutic-area, and asset cross-functional committees
  • Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs with clinical/professional associations and societies
  • Mentor onboarding partners, advisory board leads, and study leads
  • Participate in special projects as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health science required
  • Relevant experience required: PharmD/PhD with 6 years of experience, MBA/MSc with 8 years of experience, BA/BSc with 10 years of experience
  • Subject matter expert recognized across internal and external stakeholders
  • Breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict constructively
  • Ability to manage a significant volume of projects in a remote environment, prioritize, implement successfully, and exercise excellent judgment
  • Ability to work within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to manage and lead change in an evolving external health care environment
  • Change agility and adaptability to organizational change
  • Problem-solving and enterprise-wide networking skills

  • Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
