About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and own the target-state technical data architecture and multi-year roadmap for PGS and Enterprise Solutions
  • Own the canonical data model and domain ontologies as governed, executable artefacts using open ISA-95/ISA-88 standards
  • Define data contracts, schema standards, and the data product definition with business data owners
  • Establish certification criteria for trusted data products
  • Hold data and integration standards sign-off across the federated delivery model
  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team of architects and stewards
  • Build and lead Domain Technical Data Stewardship with named technical stewards paired to PGS business data owners
  • Own data governance policy for a GxP environment, including data integrity by design and readiness for emerging AI and data regulations
  • Chair architecture reviews of major data initiatives and guide build-versus-conform decisions
  • Partner with Enterprise Data Fabric, Loom, AI Center of Excellence, ERP, Cyber & OT Security, and Identity & Access teams
  • Serve as a senior voice with PGS leadership and the PGS Data, Analytics & AI Transformation organization on data strategy, standards, and stewardship

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management or a related field
  • 12+ years of experience in data architecture, data management or data engineering
  • 7+ years leading teams and setting standards at enterprise scale
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise data architecture, data models, and data standards in a large, federated organization
  • Applied knowledge of AI technologies, concepts and trends, with a deep understanding of AI-ready data strategy and execution
  • Track record of partnering with business and solution teams to translate business strategies into architectural standards and roadmaps
  • Broad understanding of Digital Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and SAP ERP concepts and data models
  • Experience establishing data governance in a regulated GxP or comparable environment, including data integrity requirements
  • Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders at VP level and above across business and technology organizations
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and oversee and guide colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes
  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA/PhD) in a relevant field preferred
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality or supply chain domain knowledge preferred
  • Working knowledge of ISA-95/ISA-88, data product/data operating models, and data contract practices preferred
  • Understanding of SAP ERP data models and data platforms preferred
  • Recognised architecture or data management credentials, such as TOGAF or DAMA CDMP, preferred
  • Experience operating a stewardship or paired business/technical ownership model preferred
  • Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States required
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
  • Occasional travel of less than 10%
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for global meetings or major incident/problem management
