About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end design execution of complex AI-enabled products and workflows from problem framing and research through prototyping, validation, detailed design, and implementation
- Design AI experiences across chat, voice, and multimodal interactions
- Define conversation state, tool use, human oversight, approvals, escalation, error recovery, and safe fallback behaviors
- Use LLM APIs, agent frameworks, and emerging AI tools to prototype realistic system behavior
- Test assumptions and identify usability, trust, and safety risks before development
- Partner directly with Product and Engineering to shape scope, evaluate trade-offs, resolve implementation challenges, and preserve design intent
- Deliver interaction, visual, and conversation design addressing usability, accessibility, trust, transparency, and regulated-content requirements
- Turn ambiguous ideas into testable concepts, proofs of concept, and production-ready designs
- Contribute reusable interaction approaches, standards, frameworks, and patterns across products and platforms
- Define experience measures and evaluate adoption, task success, trust, usability, and product effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative evidence
- Remain engaged through implementation and post-release learning
- Occasionally travel for workshops, team meetings, or stakeholder engagement
- Work across global time zones as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of progressive UX design experience; OR master's degree with at least 5 years of experience; OR PhD with 1+ years of experience
- Strong understanding of modern product development, front-end principles, APIs, and technical constraints
- Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs or agent frameworks to prototype real agent behavior in code
- Experience creating and delivering reusable interaction patterns, components, or design frameworks across multiple products and engineering teams
- Experience designing Conversational UX for chat and/or voice, including dialog flows, conversation state, repair/fallback patterns, escalation, and tone/voice guidelines
- Experience designing Agentic AI workflows with human-in-the-loop controls, approvals, transparency, and safe failure modes
- Extensive experience with AI-driven design tools and platforms
- AI-first mindset and willingness to adopt augmented workflows
- Expertise in accessibility and inclusive design, including WCAG 2.1 AA compliance
- Ability to deliver complex design projects under tight deadlines
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Robust portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, system-level thinking, AI-powered experiences, rapid prototyping, and complex delivery at scale
- Breadth of diverse leadership experiences, including influencing and collaborating with peers, coaching others, and guiding colleagues
- Permanent work authorization in the United States
- Must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer; U.S. work visa sponsorship is unavailable
