About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as enterprise Practice Lead and Principal Engineer for the Snowflake platform
  • Provide technical direction and decision-making authority
  • Lead the Snowflake environment following prior platform leadership transitions
  • Own platform-level decisions for enterprise-scale and regulated GxP and SOX-aligned workloads
  • Advise application and solution teams on Snowflake architecture, migrations, and best practices
  • Integrate Snowflake with the broader enterprise ecosystem
  • Drive proofs of concept and advanced features including AI-driven agents, natural language interaction, and automation
  • Lead platform extensions that simplify usage, improve supportability, and enhance developer experience
  • Assess scope, risk, and impact of new Snowflake releases
  • Partner with Digital, business, architecture, delivery teams, Snowflake vendor, and Resident Solution Architects
  • Lead communications about Snowflake features, changes, and deprecations to a large global user base
  • Ensure compliance, security, and data protection standards for Snowflake implementations
  • Optimize monitoring, ticketing integration, and operational efficiency with platform support teams
  • Mentor Snowflake engineers and platform team members
  • Lead technical interviews and skill assessments
  • Foster a Snowflake community of practice through knowledge sharing and best-practice dissemination

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS preferably in computer science or related discipline with at least 6 years of experience, or MBA/MS with at least 5 years of experience, or PhD/JD with 1 year of experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Snowflake Data Cloud, including Dynamic Tables, Snowpipe Streaming, Snowpark/Container Services, Hybrid Tables, Data Sharing, Replication, Iceberg, and Openflow
  • Strong Snowflake SQL skills, including window functions, semi-structured data handling such as JSON and XML, UDFs, time travel, and query optimization techniques
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Snowflake platform capabilities and enterprise-scale implementations, particularly Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities
  • Python skills and mastery of working with and reading code
  • Knowledge of Snowflake access methods including OAuth, PAT, local accounts, ODBC, and JDBC
  • Knowledge of Snowflake security features including roles, policies, and masking
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical and architectural problems in large, regulated environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to influence teams across Digital and business units
  • Demonstrated leadership without direct line management
  • Knowledge of integrating Snowflake with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt and Matillion, BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI, and orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
  • Expertise in data modeling optimized for Snowflake
  • Experience with authentication and authorization systems such as LDAP, AD, and AWS IAM
  • Application architecture and solutioning experience
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and guide colleagues’ work
  • Must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States required
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
