About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement sustainability strategies and programs covering Scope 3 emissions reduction, sustainable sourcing, biodiversity and nature, product sustainability, and responsible supply chains
  • Manage Pfizer's Scope 3 program through supply chain analyses, emissions-reduction opportunity identification, progress tracking, and cross-functional implementation coordination
  • Partner with External Supply and Procurement on supplier net-zero strategies, emissions-reduction expectations, data quality, and improvement plans
  • Develop, monitor, analyze, and communicate sustainability performance metrics and KPIs
  • Facilitate cross-functional sustainability teams and integrate environmental considerations into business processes and sourcing decisions
  • Monitor voluntary frameworks, customer expectations, industry trends, and emerging environmental regulations
  • Assess business impacts, risks, and compliance actions across regions where Pfizer operates
  • Develop governance processes, risk assessments, compliance programs, guidance documents, playbooks, training programs, communications, and decision-support tools
  • Research scientific, regulatory, and industry developments related to sustainability
  • Represent Pfizer in external sustainability initiatives, industry working groups, and collaborative partnerships
  • Serve as an environmental sustainability subject matter expert and trusted resource across Pfizer
  • Lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational outcomes without direct reporting authority

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of experience; OR master's degree with at least 5 years of experience; OR PhD with 1+ years of experience
  • Experience supporting corporate sustainability programs from strategy through execution in a large, complex, matrixed organization
  • Technical knowledge across climate/GHG accounting, Scope 3/supply chain emissions reduction, nature and biodiversity frameworks, and emerging product sustainability regulations
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision and oversight
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to translate scientific and technical content into executive-ready narratives
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs and sustainability playbooks to technical audiences
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Ability to work outside standard working hours at times
  • Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States required
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
