About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assume Responsible Pharmacist duties and maintain legal, ethical and GPhC-compliant pharmacy governance
  • Oversee safe and effective dispensary operations in a high-volume environment
  • Clinically check NHS and private prescriptions for accuracy, dosage and safety
  • Manage prescription queries and responses within agreed SLAs
  • Review and appropriately escalate incidents, near misses and risks
  • Provide clinical guidance to dispensary and facility operations teams
  • Liaise with Professional Standards, Customer Service, Operations and Clinical teams to resolve prescription issues
  • Advise patients on interactions, side effects and minor ailments
  • Support team performance, operational and business targets, and a positive workplace culture
  • Take overall accountability for safe and compliant facility operations during the RP period

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a registered pharmacist meeting GPhC standards and legal requirements
  • Applicants must prove they have the right to live in the UK
  • All successful applicants must undergo a DBS check
  • Ability to work in a high-volume dispensing environment while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Ability to clinically check NHS and private prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, dosage and safety
  • Ability to provide professional advice on medicines, side effects, interactions and minor ailments
  • Ability to manage and resolve prescription queries within agreed SLAs
  • Ability to review dispensing incidents and contribute to continuous improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Ability to collaborate with Customer Services, Purchasing, Operations and Clinical teams
  • Willingness to participate in the Responsible Pharmacist rota, working on-site and remotely as required
  • Availability for Tuesday to Friday 2am–9am and Saturday 1am–6am shifts (31 hours per week)
