Rare Disease Sales Representative

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promote appropriate patient access to treatments in the territory by effectively positioning Pendopharm’s Rare Diseases portfolio and developing trusted partnerships with stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.
- Achieve and exceed business objectives by monitoring performance, understanding the territory, and executing strategic action plans.
- Use product knowledge, scientific data, and selling techniques to engage healthcare professionals and key decision-makers.
- Establish, develop, and maintain strong, lasting relationships with healthcare professionals and other key stakeholders.
- Identify and prioritize growth opportunities using available data to support decision-making and the territory business plan.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of territory dynamics, patient care pathways, and the needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Market Access, the Patient Support Program (PSP), and other cross-functional partners.
- Contribute to the preparation and execution of new product launches.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable ethical standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of five (5) years of pharmaceutical sales experience, ideally in a specialty products environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with specialist physicians and managing a complex territory.
- Experience in rare diseases, oncology, and/or endocrinology is a strong asset.
- Experience working with endocrinologists and/or immunologists is an asset.
- Experience with a pharmaceutical product launch is an asset.
- Strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales and business objectives.
- Strong customer focus and patient-centered approach.
- Excellent ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders.
- Strategic and analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a scientific, complex, and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and account management skills.
- Strong business acumen and ability to develop and execute a territory business plan.
- Ability to analyze territory data to identify growth opportunities and establish priorities.
- Comfortable understanding, interpreting, and communicating scientific and clinical data.
- Good knowledge of the Canadian pharmaceutical environment, Health Canada regulations, the Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC) Code, and applicable ethical guidelines.
- Proficiency with computer tools and ability to use data to support decision-making.
- Bilingual proficiency required: excellent written and spoken French and English.
- University degree in science, business, or a related field.
