About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and governance
- Lead strategic sourcing processes, including RFx, evaluation, negotiations, and contracting
- Develop and execute category strategies to optimize costs, reduce risk, and create value
- Analyze markets, spend, and trends to identify improvement opportunities
- Act as a business partner to business units and provide strategic sourcing leadership
- Develop, negotiate, and manage relationships with strategic suppliers
- Ensure governance and lifecycle management of strategic contracts
- Identify and implement savings, cost avoidance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Track and communicate the progress of projects and initiatives
- Lead strategic sourcing activities for non-production categories such as CAPEX, IT, professional services, and MRO
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 10 years of experience in similar roles and/or a related manufacturing industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, and/or specialized education in procurement or logistics
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
- Collaborative communication skills
- Demonstrated effectiveness in planning and project management
- Resourceful, self-motivated, and proactive
- Ability to persuade and influence
- Advanced analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Ability to challenge the status quo
- Experience managing cost-reduction and process-improvement projects
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to collaborate with suppliers and/or customers located outside the province of Quebec
